Web Design Stockton From £99 + VAT: A Site That Knows Which Side of the Tees You Trade On

If you are looking for web design in Stockton, start with the price. A one page site from HS Tech Solution costs £99 + VAT, which is £118.80 in total. You pay it once. There is no monthly fee and no contract. Hamza Shafiq, the owner, builds it with you and it is usually live in about a week.

How Google reads your address

Stockton-on-Tees, TS18

Your site, your Google profile and your page code should all say the same thing.

The borough with two counties

Stockton, Thornaby or Yarm? Which Place Name Should Your Website Use?

The borough of Stockton-on-Tees is the only council area in England split between two ceremonial counties. Stockton, Norton and Billingham sit north of the river in County Durham. Thornaby, Yarm and Ingleby Barwick sit south of it in North Yorkshire. From 1974 to 1996 the whole borough was part of Cleveland, and many old addresses still say so.

Locals know this well. People in Thornaby and Yarm often say they are not from Stockton at all. Google does not know it unless your website tells it.

Where you tradeWhich sideName to put on your siteWhy it matters
Stockton town centre, NortonNorth bank“Stockton-on-Tees” in full, plus your TS postcodePlain “Stockton” also matches Stockton, California, a city that fills many web design results online
Billingham, WynyardNorth bankYour town name first, then “Stockton-on-Tees”Billingham shoppers search for Billingham, not the borough
Thornaby, Ingleby BarwickSouth bankYour town, then “Stockton-on-Tees”Locals see these as separate towns, and so do their searches
Yarm, EaglescliffeSouth bank (Eaglescliffe is north)“Yarm” on its own, with the postcodeYarm has its own postal town and its own high street identity

Note

Cleveland was abolished in 1996. If your site or Google profile still says “Cleveland”, change it to match the address your customers use.

We checked what other firms get wrong. One national web design site we read describes the whole borough as part of County Durham. That is only half true, and a Yarm customer would notice.

What we do

We set the same name, postcode and service area on your site, your Google Business Profile and your page code, so all three say the same thing.

Three Stockton customers

Globe Night, Museum Day, Estate Job: What Each Customer Opens First

The borough has 5,780 businesses and 87% of them employ fewer than ten people (Nomis, UK Business Counts 2026). Most are trying to win the same thing: a stranger on a phone who has a minute to decide. Here are three of them.

Evening

The Globe crowd

Stockton Globe on the High Street holds 3,000 people. The council calls it the biggest live venue between Newcastle and Leeds. Before a show, people search for food near the Globe and check if you take bookings.

What your site needs

Your menu as text, not a photo of a menu. Your hours on show nights. A booking button that works on a phone with one thumb.

Who this fits: 430 food and drink firms in the borough.

Daytime

The day out family

Preston Park Museum and its Victorian Street open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. The Tees Barrage International White Water Centre, reached from Thornaby off the A66, has a 300 metre course. Visitors to both search for parking, prices and somewhere to eat nearby.

What your site needs

A short “getting here” line, your price list, and opening times that match your Google profile.

Who this fits: 425 arts, leisure and personal service firms.

At home

The Ingleby Barwick homeowner

Ingleby Barwick is a large, spread out housing area south of the river. Most people there do not walk past your door. They find salons, physios, garages and cleaners by searching.

What your site needs

The towns you cover, a few real photos of your work, and a phone number you can tap.

Who this fits: 315 health firms and 215 motor trade firms, among others.

Is a £99 Site Enough, or Do You Need Five Pages?

Paid once

One page, £99 + VAT

Good for a sole trader, a new start or a market stall. One page holds who you are, what you do, where you work, your prices and how to get in touch. It is enough to be found and trusted.

Quoted in writing

A small business site, quoted

Good when each service needs its own page, or when you serve several towns. A roofer in Billingham who also works in Yarm may need a page for each place. We quote in writing after one chat.

The 3 second rule

People decide very fast whether to stay on a page. On a phone, the top of your page needs to say what you do, where, and how to contact you. If that takes a scroll, many people leave. We build the top of every page around those three things.

Are websites still relevant in 2026?

Yes. Google’s own guidance says its AI answers pull from normal web pages that can be crawled and indexed. No website means nothing for Google or AI tools to point to. A small, clear site gives them something to quote.

Who you deal with

Hamza Shafiq, the Owner, About 40 Minutes Up the A19

HS Tech Solution belongs to Hamza Shafiq. He lives in Durham, about 40 minutes by car from Stockton High Street. There is no office in Stockton, and this page will not claim one.

Meet him face to face in Durham, or speak on the phone or over video. You deal with him from the first chat to launch day, with a small team behind him. He has almost five years of hands on experience, and the business has delivered more than 800 projects since 2022.

Stocktonians who reviewed local web firms praised quick replies, plain advice and an easy process. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Straight answers

Stockton Website Questions

01

How much does a website cost in the UK?

It ranges from about £100 a year for a DIY builder to £5,000 or more from an agency. Most small business sites from regional firms cost £1,500 to £5,000. With us, a one page site is £99 + VAT, paid once, and larger sites are quoted in writing.

03

Is your £99 a monthly fee?

No. You pay £99 + VAT once, which is £118.80. There is no monthly charge from us and no minimum term. Some firms advertise £99 as a monthly fee with a 12 month contract, so always check the small print.

05

How long does it take to build my site?

About a week for a one page site, once we have your text, photos and prices. Bigger sites take longer and we give you a date before we start. Most delays come from waiting on content, so having it ready speeds things up.

07

Can I meet you face to face if I am in Stockton?

Yes, in Durham, which is about 40 minutes up the A19. Most Stockton owners prefer a phone or video call, which saves the drive. We do not have a Stockton office, and we would rather tell you that up front.

09

Will a new site get me on Google Maps?

The site helps, but Maps listings come from your Google Business Profile. We make sure your site and profile show the same name, address, phone and hours. That match is one of the things Google uses to trust a local business.

02

Is £99 for a website too good to be true?

No, as long as you know what it covers. It is one page, built properly, with your text, photos, contact details and Google basics. You buy your own domain and hosting. If you need more pages, we quote them separately before any work begins.

04

Should my site say Stockton, Teesside or County Durham?

Use the full town name and your postcode, such as “Stockton-on-Tees, TS18” or “Yarm, TS15”. Plain “Stockton” can mix you up with Stockton, California. Avoid “Cleveland”, which was abolished in 1996, and make your site match your Google profile.

06

Do I own the site if we stop working together?

Yes. Your domain and hosting are bought in your name from the start. If you leave, you keep both, and we hand over your login details. Nobody can hold your site to ransom because nobody else owns it.

08

How do I choose a web designer for a Stockton business?

Ask for the full price with VAT in writing. Ask who you will speak to. Ask who owns the domain. Then open two of their past sites on your phone. If any answer is vague, keep looking, whoever the firm is.

10

Can you take over a site from a web company that has closed?

Yes. If your old web firm has stopped trading, we can help you move the site, or rebuild it, as long as you can get access to your domain. We check what you own first, then give you a written price.
