The last span of the Gateshead Highway flyover came down in late September 2026. For a year, people have been sent around diversions. The Five Bridges roundabout shut from 21 June to 16 July. Park Lane roundabout followed and reopened in August. The council has not yet decided what happens to the road that ran underneath.
That means a lot of online directions are now wrong. A customer who read your “how to find us” note last winter may still think the town centre is hard to reach. A review that moaned about roadworks may be the first thing they see.
Note: Road plans are still being decided. We will keep your listing in line with any new changes. Source: Gateshead Council flyover updates.
Plenty of people in Gateshead are proud they are not from Newcastle, and plenty of customers search that way too. Someone typing “SEO Gateshead” or “plumber Gateshead” wants a firm on this side of the river.
Local searches here are smaller but far less crowded. A small firm can reach the map pack for its own town much faster than for the city across the bridges. Those searchers are also more likely to call.
Once you rank at home, we build pages for nearby places you really serve, such as Low Fell, Whickham or the Quayside. Newcastle comes last, and only if you take work there.
Official figures from Nomis (2026) show what kind of firms make up the borough. Each one needs something a little different online.
Builders and trades need a quote form that works on a phone, plus photos of real jobs.
Accountants, surveyors and engineers need trust: named people, clear services, and reviews.
With the Metrocentre on the doorstep, independent shops win on “open now” searches and up to date hours.
Salons, gyms and repair shops need online booking and a Google profile with prices.
Many sell to other firms on Team Valley, where LinkedIn and search for service terms matter most.
Cafés near Saltwell Park and Low Fell need menus that load fast and a map pin in the right spot.
People keep asking whether the arena is finally coming. Here is where things stand in September 2026.
If you run a bar, café or hotel near BALTIC or The Glasshouse, get your listing, menu and booking page ready now. Just do not plan your year around an arena date that nobody has set.
We fix what stops Google trusting your site, then write pages for the searches your customers really use. Monthly plans begin at £399, VAT paid. See our SEO service, or read how we handle SEO in Gateshead.
Most local calls come from the map. We set up and look after your profile, photos, categories and review replies. See Google Business Profile management.
Useful when you need calls this week, such as a boiler repair firm in winter. We keep the area tight so you do not pay for clicks from across the region. See Google Ads.
Facebook and Instagram work well for food, beauty and events. Social media marketing in Gateshead does best with real local photos, not stock images. See Meta Ads.
A one page site starts at £99. Bigger sites are quoted once we know what you need, and most go live in about a week. See our web design in Gateshead page, or the main web design service.
There is no single price. Most UK agencies charge a monthly fee, and it rises with how many services you want and how busy your trade is online. Some also ask for a setup fee or a long contract.
Our two starting points are public. A one page website costs from £99. SEO costs from £399 a month with VAT included and a three month minimum. If your trade is crowded online, you hear that before signing, not after.
You may also hear about the 70/20/10 rule. It means putting about 70% of your budget into what already works, 20% into things that are starting to work, and 10% into small tests. For a small firm, that might be Google Business Profile first, a little SEO next, and a short ad test last.
Before you spend, check what free help you can get. Rules change, so please confirm with each scheme first.

Hamza Shafiq, who owns HS Tech Solution, is based in Ushaw Moor near Durham. Gateshead is a short drive up the A167 for him.
He will ask what brings you work today, what you want more of, and what you can spend. Then you get a plain plan, not a sales pitch.

Our past clients are mostly in Australia. We do not have a Gateshead client yet, so we show results you can test yourself.

It depends on the services and how busy your trade is online. Most UK agencies charge a monthly fee, sometimes with setup costs and long contracts. We publish our starting prices: websites from £99 and SEO from £399 a month with VAT included, so you can compare without a sales call.
Yes, for most local firms. People still check Google, Maps and now AI answers before they ring anyone. The difference in 2026 is that a clear Google profile, real reviews and plain answers on your site count for more than fancy ads. Small, steady work tends to pay off best.
Think of it as a way to share out your spend. About 70% goes on what already brings you work, 20% on channels that are starting to show promise, and 10% on small tests. It stops you betting everything on one new idea while still letting you try things.
Ask four things. Where are they based? Can you meet a real person? Do they show prices? Can you check their proof yourself? Be careful with pages that just swap in the town name, and with anyone who promises the top spot on Google. Nobody can promise that honestly.
Start at home. Gateshead searches are less crowded, so a small firm can reach the map results faster. Once you rank locally, add pages for nearby places you really serve. Only go after Newcastle if you take work there, because those searches are much harder to win.
Sign in to your Google Business Profile, check the map pin, and edit your description with today’s route and parking. Add fresh photos of your front and post a short update. Google’s own help guide explains each step, or we can do it for you as part of local SEO.
Possibly. Gateshead BIG, run by Smarta, includes digital marketing help for established firms, with funded places running to December 2026. Business Gateshead on 0191 433 3000 can tell you what grants are open now. Always check the rules before you spend anything, as some schemes will not pay for past costs.
Yes. Hamza Shafiq, who owns HS Tech Solution, lives near Durham and can meet you at your premises or a café in Gateshead. If a phone or video call suits you better, that works too. Most first chats take about 30 minutes and there is no charge for them.
Yes. Your domain, website and Google Business Profile stay in your name. We work as managers, not owners, so if you move to another agency you keep everything. Ask any agency this before you sign, because some keep the site and charge you to take it back.
Google profile fixes can help within a few weeks. SEO usually takes three to six months to show steady gains, and longer in busy trades. Ads can bring calls in days but stop when you stop paying. We send regular reports so you can see what is moving and what is not.
Want a digital marketing agency in Gateshead that tells you straight what to fix first? Send us your website or business name. We will check your Google profile, your site speed and how you show up in local and AI search, then send you a short, plain list. No charge and no pushy follow up.
