Live sites you can open and judge for yourself

Trades, clinics, shops, transport firms and professional services. More than 200 websites since 2022, for businesses from one person trades to teams of fifty. Open any site below on your phone, see how fast it loads and how it reads. That is the standard your site gets.

Most of the work above sits with clients in Australia. We work with businesses across the UK on exactly the same basis, and you deal with the two of us either way.

Every WordPress development project includes this as standard.

What you get in a WordPress development package

There are no tiers where the important things are held back. Whether you are a single shop on the high street or a business trading nationwide, a fast, secure WordPress build you can safely update yourself is the baseline, not an upgrade.

Built properly on WordPress

A clean theme setup, not a bloated page-builder mess. Code that a future developer, or you, can actually make sense of.

Fast loading pages

Compressed images, clean code and proper caching. We test every build in Google PageSpeed Insights before launch.

SEO ready from day one

Page titles, headings, image names and a sitemap set up so Google can index the site properly and rank it for local searches. See our full SEO service for ongoing rankings work.

An editor you can actually use

You can change text, prices and photos yourself through WordPress without ringing us or breaking anything.

Contact forms that work

Tested end to end so enquiries actually reach your inbox. This fails more often than you would think.

Google Business Profile setup

We create or tidy your listing and connect it, which is what puts you on the map for near me searches.

SSL, security and updates

HTTPS, spam protection on forms, and a plan for keeping WordPress core, themes and plugins patched after launch. If you would rather we handle this every month for you, see our website maintenance service.

Analytics and Search Console

So you can see how many people visit, what they search for and which pages bring in enquiries.

Two weeks of free fixes

Anything that needs adjusting in the first fortnight after launch is sorted out at no charge.

Types of WordPress site we build.

Small business and enterprise sites, online shops and redesigns, all on WordPress

Most WordPress projects fall into one of these, whatever the size of the business behind them. If yours does not, tell us what you have in mind and we will say honestly whether WordPress is the right fit.

Small business website on WordPress

Four to eight pages covering what you do, your work, your prices and how to contact you, built on WordPress so it stays easy to update.

Full website design

If you want the whole site designed from scratch, not just the WordPress build, see our website design service.

Ecommerce on WordPress (WooCommerce)

Online shops built on WooCommerce, with product pages, payments, postage rules and stock all configured and tested before launch. Prefer Shopify instead? See our ecommerce and Shopify service.

WordPress redesign and migration

Moving a dated or slow site onto WordPress. We map every old page to its new address first, so your existing Google rankings carry across.

Booking and enquiry sites

For trades, clinics and services where the goal is a filled-in form or a booked slot rather than a browse, built with reliable WordPress form and booking plugins.

Multi page service sites

Larger WordPress sites of ten to twenty pages where each service needs its own page to rank properly, rather than everything crammed onto one.

WordPress development pricing.

How much does WordPress development cost in the UK?

Most of our WordPress development projects fall between £[X] and £[Y] plus VAT. You get a fixed quote before we start, so the number you are given is the number you pay.

How that compares

UK agencies typically charge £3,000 to £7,000 for a small business WordPress build, and a brochure site usually takes four to eight weeks.

We sit between a DIY builder and a full agency, because we have built this kind of WordPress site more than 200 times and know exactly how long it takes.

Ongoing costs

Managed WordPress hosting is roughly £[X] a year and a .co.uk domain about £[X] a year. Both stay in your name. Maintenance is optional at £[X] a month, and covers keeping WordPress, themes and plugins updated.

WordPress development process.

How we design and build your WordPress site

Six steps from first call to launch. You know what is happening at every one of them.

1

A call, about twenty minutes

You tell us what the business does and what the site needs to achieve. We ask who your customers are and what they search for. No charge, no pressure.

2

A written quote in one working day

A fixed price, a page list and a launch date in writing. If scope changes later, we price it and tell you before doing it.

3

Design you approve first

A mockup of the home page and one inside page. You request changes and we make them, all before the balance is due.

4

The build, two to four weeks

Where most projects live. Theme setup, pages, plugins and content, built and checked against the written quote as we go.

5

Testing before launch

Checked on phone, tablet and desktop, run through PageSpeed Insights, and every form tested so enquiries actually arrive.

6

Launch and two weeks of free fixes

We set up your Google Business Profile, submit to Search Console and hand over every login. Fixes in the first fortnight are free.

Choosing a web design company.

How to tell a good WordPress developer from a bad one

You do not need to take our word for any of this. Every one of these is something you can check yourself, about us or about anyone else quoting you.

Run their client sites through PageSpeed

A designer who does not test performance will hand you a site that looks fine and loads in eight seconds. Ask for two live client URLs and check them.

Check the portfolio links to live sites

Pictures of designs are not evidence. If the portfolio is screenshots rather than working addresses, ask why.

Ask whether the price is fixed or an estimate

An estimate is where scope creep starts. Get the number, the page count and the launch date in writing before you pay a deposit.

Ask who owns the WordPress install and hosting

If the answer is anything other than you, walk away. It is the single most common way small businesses get trapped with a WordPress agency.

WordPress development questions.

Questions we are asked before every project

Most small business WordPress sites cost between £[X] and £[Y] plus VAT. UK agencies typically charge £3,000 to £7,000 for the same thing. We give you a fixed price in writing before any work starts, so there is no surprise invoice at the end.

Three to four weeks for a standard business site. Larger sites and WooCommerce shops take six to eight. The UK average for a brochure build on WordPress is four to eight weeks, so we are usually faster.

Yes. Every site is built mobile first, because more than half your visitors will be on a phone. We test on phone, tablet and desktop before launch.

Yes. The domain, hosting and WordPress install are registered in your name from day one. If you ever want to move to another developer, you take everything with you and we help with the handover.

Yes. We map every old page to its new WordPress address before launch so links and rankings carry across. Sites lose rankings when this step gets skipped, not because of the WordPress move itself.

No. We set the site up so you can edit text, prices, photos and blog posts through WordPress’s normal editing screen, the same way you would use a word processor.

We keep the plugin list small and only use ones we trust, which is most of the fix in itself. Ongoing maintenance, at £[X] a month, covers keeping WordPress core, themes and plugins patched and tested.

Yes. We rebuild it on WordPress, carry your existing content and rankings across, and hand you something you can maintain yourself going forward.

Get a fixed quote for your WordPress project, wherever you are in the UK
