Looking for web design in Stanley that gives customers somewhere real to land? HS Tech Solution builds small, fast websites for firms across DH9. Our smallest site, a single page, costs from £99. Bigger sites are priced after a free chat, once we know what they need to do. A small site is usually live within a week or so. Hamza Shafiq, the owner, lives in Ushaw Moor, about 21 minutes from Front Street, and he talks to every client himself.

Three things the Website button can do
Our own check, 18 October 2026
On 18 October 2026 we searched Google Maps for five common trades in Stanley, County Durham. We opened each business in the results and pressed its website link. We did not name anyone, because the point is the pattern, not the people.
Their own name, their own address on the web.
Two went to Facebook or Instagram. One went to a menu app. One went to a free blog address. One went to the venue the café sits in. Two went to pages made by a website builder that the owner may never have seen.
A customer who wanted to check prices or photos had nowhere to go.
| Trade | Checked | Own site | Elsewhere | No link |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Takeaways | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 |
| Joiners | 8 | 5 | 1 | 2 |
| Garages and MOT | 8 | 3 | 1 | 4 |
| Cafés | 10 | 3 | 4 | 3 |
| Hairdressers | 6 | 1 | 1 | 4 |
Ordering forces it. If you sell food to take away, the bar in Stanley is already high.
Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, had 815,075 visits in 2025, according to the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions. Yet only 3 of the 10 cafés we checked linked to a site of their own.
That is normal for a trade that goes to the customer. But it means Google cannot see where you work unless your website says so.
Four in each group had no link. Many are long standing, with loyal regulars. New customers still check online first.
How we checked: This was a small, one day check of the first results Google showed. It is not a survey of every firm in town. It does show how often the Website button in Stanley leads nowhere useful.
Who controls the link
A link on your Google listing is only worth something if it goes to a page you control.
Facebook and Instagram are good for news and photos. But you rent the space. You cannot choose the layout, and people without an account may see a login box first. Google’s own guidelines for Business Profiles ask for a website that represents your business. They warn against links that send people to other pages, and they name pages created on social media sites.
These help people order. The app owns the page, though, and it can show other businesses beside yours.
A name like yourbusiness.wordpress.com looks like a hobby to many buyers. A domain such as yourbusiness.co.uk costs around £10 to £15 a year.
Two of the listings we checked linked to pages on a website builder’s own domain. Both pages had general text that sounded nothing like a small Stanley business, and reviews we could not match to the firm’s Google reviews. Each page footer offered to “create your website”. If your listing links to a page like this, you did not write it and you cannot fix it.
Five minute job
That takes five minutes. If you want a second pair of eyes, our free check below does the same thing and tells you what we see.
Prices, in pounds
Across the UK, Duport’s 2026 guide puts a DIY builder such as Wix or Squarespace at about £240 to £360 a year. It puts a freelance designer at £1,200 to £2,000 and an agency at £2,500 to £10,000.

If you are pricing website design in Stanley, you will find few designers show a figure at all. Here is what we found on their own sites on 18 October 2026:
| Designer | Published price |
|---|---|
| Liam Hicks Web Design (County Durham) | One page £500, multi page £750, premium £999 |
| Total Results (Stanley) | Pricing page with no figures; quote after a brief |
| HiJack Web Design | No prices shown |
| HS Tech Solution | One page site from £99; larger sites quoted on what they need |
Of the four web designers Google Maps listed in Stanley that day, one had no website link and one showed an “under construction” page. Before you pay any web designer in Stanley or further afield, it is fair to ask to see their own site first.
Both are bought in your name, not ours. We guide you through it, so they stay yours if you ever move on.
By trade
Stanley has 670 business sites, and 600 of them employ fewer than 10 people, according to Nomis UK Business Counts 2026. Construction is the biggest group at 130. Retail and food each have 70. Motor trades have 35. Each one needs its site to do a different job.
130
Construction firms in Stanley
Most work from a van, not a shop. So the site does the job an address would. List the villages you cover by name, such as South Moor, Craghead, Annfield Plain or Tanfield. Add photos of finished jobs, each with the place it was done. Put a quote form near the top.
70
Food and accommodation firms
Day trippers search on their phones as they leave the museum or the railway. Your site needs today’s hours, a menu with prices, a call button and the walk or drive time, only where it is true. A takeaway also needs an ordering link that works on a small screen.
70
Retail firms
The council’s 2021 town masterplan found shoppers had moved towards Clifford Road Retail Park. People who do come to Front Street often check first. Show hours, parking and a few things you stock.
35
Motor trade businesses
People want to know if you can fit them in. Show your MOT price if you can, your hours and a way to book or ring. Half the garages we checked had no link at all, so a plain site stands out fast.
B2B
Industrial estate firms
Buyers here are other businesses. They want spec sheets, delivery areas and a trade enquiry form. A clean services page beats a fancy home page.
Honest advice
Plenty of Stanley owners have tried a builder over a weekend. Sometimes that is the right call.
A one page site from £99 sits between the two. You get it built for you, then we show you how to change your hours, photos and notices yourself.
How it works
Hamza asks what you sell, which villages your customers come from, and what you want people to do on the site. Call, book or drop in.
Send what you have. We tidy the wording and pick the photos that show your work best.
We build for phones first, then check it on a laptop. You see it before anyone else does. Most small sites are ready in about a week.
We put your new address in your Google Business Profile, check your hours and phone number match, and press the Website button with you to prove it works.
Your contact
You deal with Hamza from the first call to the day your site goes live. He lives in Ushaw Moor, about 11 miles from Stanley. If you want to meet face to face, he meets clients in Durham. Most owners pick a phone or video call, because it fits around a working day.
He has close to five years of building sites, with a small team behind him. He will tell you if a £99 page is enough for you, and he will tell you if it is not.

Proof you can test
We test every site with Google’s free PageSpeed Insights tool. These two are live sites we built. We tested them on mobile on 18 October 2026.
Keegan Electrical: 96 out of 100 for speed, 92 for SEO
One Drop FM: 98 out of 100 for speed, 100 for SEO
Open them on your own phone and run the test yourself. Expect a point or two of change on any given day.
Most of the sites we have built so far are for firms in Australia. We have completed more than 800 projects since 2022. We have no Stanley client to show you yet, and we would rather say so than pretend.

Straight answers
Duport’s 2026 guide puts a freelance designer at £1,200 to £2,000 and an agency at £2,500 to £10,000. DIY builders cost about £240 to £360 a year. Our single page site costs from £99. Sites with more pages, booking or a shop are quoted after a free chat.
Not really. A Facebook page is useful, but Facebook owns it, sets the layout and can ask visitors to log in. Google’s Business Profile rules ask for a site that represents your business. Keep Facebook for news and photos, and link your Google listing to a site you own.
A free Google Business Profile, a Facebook page or a directory listing will get you started. Each one belongs to someone else, though, and shows only what that platform allows. In our Stanley check, 13 of 37 listings had no site at all. A one page site fixes that cheaply.
There is no single best one. Wix and Squarespace are easy to start with but charge monthly for as long as you stay. WordPress takes more setup, but you own it and can move it anywhere. We mostly build on WordPress and also work with Wix and Shopify.
Sign in to your Google Business Profile and change the website link to a page you control. If you have no site yet, remove the link for now. Then check your hours, phone number and photos. We can do this with you on a free call.
Yes. That is one of the main jobs a site does for a trade with no shop. Name each village you cover, add photos of jobs with the place they were done, and keep your Google service areas to the same list.
One common list is context, content, community, customisation, communication, connection and commerce. For a small Stanley firm, three matter most: clear content about what you do, a quick way to contact you, and a layout that works on a phone. The rest can come later.
The North East Business Support Fund grant has closed to new applications, according to its website in October 2026. Durham Business Growth still offers fully funded advice and workshops to County Durham firms. Check Durham Business Growth before you spend, in case a new scheme opens.
In person meetings happen in Durham, about 21 minutes away. Most Stanley owners choose a phone or video call, which Hamza takes himself, often in the evening. You get the same person on every call, so nothing is lost between meetings.
Yes. You buy the domain and hosting in your own name, and we walk you through it. Every login is handed to you. If you ever stop working with us, the site and the address go with you, with no exit fee.
No cost, no pressure
Tell us the name of your business. We will search for you on Google Maps the way a customer in DH9 would, press your Website button and tell you what we find. If your link is fine, we will say so. If you need a site, we will tell you what kind and what it costs. That is web design in Stanley the canny way: one owner, a fair price and no hard sell.
